Hey people! Its Andy here bringing you my review and a few bits of information about Skyrim, Elder Scrolls 5.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is currently available on XBOX360, PS3 and PC.
Skyrim is set approximately 200 years after the events of Oblivion, (Elder Scrolls 4), and takes place in the north region of Tamriel. As always, the game is completely open world with one main quest, but hundreds of other quests you can do in the meantime.
As like the other Elder Scrolls game, you start off as an unknown prisoner on your way to be beheaded. Great start right? But as luck would have it, just as your about to lose your head (quite literally) a giant Dragon appears and begins burning and killing everything around you. Lucky! After your escape, you choose your character name, class, attributes, even appearance! Then you are free to explore as you see fit.
It quite literally is as you see fit too. You can go join rebels, the Army, a group of Assassins called The Dark Brotherhood, go Dragon hunting, become a Theif, get married, get a home....anything you can think of, its all yours. What i love about this game is that you are quite literally free to go around and do whatever you want! I spent a good long time just walking around the map finding caves and killing wolves. That was until i discovered The Mages Guild and started learning about magic and spell casting.
The play-ability of this game is un-ending. Im on over 150 hours, and i know Natalie is over 200 hours. Also with the game is the fact that it changes depending how you play. I have seen missions appear on one game and not the other, or missions taking place in completely different places. The game will change the way you play.
Your character will gain experiance for completing missions and defeating enemies, and each time you level up you gain a level point which you can spend on improving such skills as healing, magic, weapon handling, again, anything you want.
Weapons are as varied as they come, ranging from maces, swords, daggers, Bows and arrows and magic. You can make your own by smithing them, or you can buy some, or you can come across alot of weapons scattered along battlefields.
The main story is fairly simple. Dragons are returning from the grave to feast upon the inhabitants of Skyrim, and its your job to find out why and stop them. At the same time, the region is currently at war between the Imperial Loyalists and the Stormcloaks, and its your job to help sort out it. Which means choosing which side you think is more deserving to win.
This is a fantastic game, and it is never played the same twice. I'd strongly recommend this game to anyone, but kiss goodbye your social life!
